This item was selected and purchased by two of Velnica's designers at an antique market in Japan.
This is a print of an ukiyo-e designed by Utagawa Hiroshige.
This is one of the “One Hundred Famous Views of Edo, titled “Bakurocho hatsune no baba (Bakurocho town Horse riding area at Hatsune)”, depicting a famous spot in Edo (present-day Tokyo) during the Edo period.
Bakurocho town was once a town where horse trading took place.
The town, which was once a military facility, has become a drying ground for dyed fabrics and a playground for children, illustrating the peaceful daily life of Edo.
The building at the front is the fire watchtower, a famous landmark of Bakurocho.
The graceful willow trees on both sides have begun to sprout, evoking a sense of gentle spring.
